Age 6 
At the age of six, and average child is full of energy and wants to be the "best" and the "first". Your child may also be oppositional, silly and critical asking you all the hundred questions he has in mind. The child is now used to the established routine and may have difficulty being flexible. At the age of eight, an average child is explosive, excitable, dramatic and inquisitive. Your child may have a "know-it-all" attitude and undertake more than can handle successfully. He is also able to assume more responsibility for his actions. The child becomes more self-critical, actively seeks praise and recognizes the needs of others. more...

Age 9 
At the age of nine your child will want to put some distance between himself and you, the parent. and may rebel against authority in general. Children at this age need to be part of a group but they seek independency at the same time. Your child may posses a high activity level. Emotional level of your child will become deeper. He will be able to empathize, express a wide range of emotions and verbalize easily.
