Is my Baby Getting Enough Milk? Breastfeeding Myths
Breast Milk vs. Formula (Chart)  Lets Latch on Properly
reast milk is the best and the healthiest food for your baby. The health benefits are the biggest reason for breastfeeding. Breast milk is convenient, since it already has everything your baby needs in correct proportions — water, protein, carbohydrates, fats and vitamins and minerals. It's also "living tissue" that provides many protective factors to keep your newborn healthy: Breast-fed babies have better immunity against disease and infections, are less prone to digestive problems and spit up less frequently, and they also suffer less from allergies than formula-fed infants. In fact, inconclusive research even suggests that breast-fed babies tend to score higher on IQ tests later in life than their formula-fed counterparts.  How would you like to raise your child's IQ by 10 points, reduce medical bills and make every organ in their body work better? In fact, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends breastfeeding for at least the first year of a baby's life (exclusively for the first six months to one year), and longer if both you and your child are willing.  Whether or not a new mother initiates breastfeeding, her body will begin producing breast milk soon after her baby is born.

Why Breastfeed?

ecause it is worth it!  The American Academy of Pediatrics is gung-ho on the health benefits of breastfeeding that they recommend mothers nurse their infants for the entire first year of life, if not longer.  Human breast milk contains the ideal proportions of more than two hundred ingredients including protein, fat carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and antibodies---that are NOT duplicated in any formula.
